Sustainable bags made in IT

Hello! I think you should discover this brand, āim, that produces sustainable handbags, made in Italy.

The angle that this company is taking to tackle sustainability is to focus on leather overproduction and take the overstock of leather already produced to make new products without increasing the demand and reusing a resource that has been already put in circle and should be anyways managed from the waste process perspective generating pollution as a result of it.

Another fundamental pillar of sustanaibility that āim has in their mission is to produce collections of items supposed to last for long time, fighting the concept of fast fashion whereby every item is quickly replaced by a newer and trendier one, just launched in the market!

They also believe being sustainable is a journey, and they have future plans to start using alternative materials to produce their collections.

Their collection is quite minimal at the moment, they offer 2 models of handbags Olivia and Sofia which come in different colors.

The ordering process does not seem fully automated at least as I am writing this post and a pre-order process has been rolled out perhaps as a way to face issues related to the COVID pandemic: currently you have to send an email with the request to buy a specific model and color and then the team will contact you to further process the query.

In the website they do not mention the price of the bags, which possibly is something to improve as it is a sign of transparency that is always appreciated by consumers, however you can find the price in the additional information on their Instagram profile! I can tell you these handbags are not cheap but affordable and it is important to always keep in mind that sustainability never goes hand in hand with low costs, simply because if you do not pay much for an item in fashion it means most likely someone else in the production and manufacturing chain has been not fairly treated!

Hope you get inspired to invest in a good sustainable handbag soon!
