Italian brand making eco-friendly sneakers.
ACBC, which stands for anything can be changed, is a pioneer in creating modular shoes that are also minimizing the impact on the environment by reducing a lot the CO2 emissions as part of their manufacturing process.
This Italian startup has created a modular concept where each shoes setup consists of one pair of the rubber soles, along with multiple sets of fabric uppers known as “skins.”
The beauty is that these two components simply zip together, so you can quickly swap one style of skin for another, depending on the mood of the day!
The different skins are made of bio-based materials derived from grapes, corn and pineapple among others, resulting in products which are claimed to be strong and breathable.
Recycling and circularity are also part of this company mission: for instance once the skins get worn out, their plastic zippers are cut off by the user, and they can be disposed for recycling purposes.
In terms of circularity, once those soles wear out, users ship them back to ACBC stores, where they’re ground up and used in shock-absorbing flooring sheets used in children’s playgrounds!
As you can see in their e-shop, they provide both woman and man collections and the range of prices is moderate to expensive.
