Sustainable Fashion Dressmaker

Hello! I’ d like to mention to you this clothing brand made in Italy, Malia Lab.

Malia Lab mission is to create a multi-purpose and functional wardrobe, suitable for all occasions, with the common thread of style, refined fabrics and craft quality.

The female founder has the goal to create a sustainable, ethical fashion brand created with respect for the body and the environment.

Unfortunately the e-shop is only in Italian at the moment, but the shipping is offered worldwide. The actual nice feature that stood up for me is the possibility to have your garments personalized, essentially you put your requirements forward to the team via the contact form and they’ll get back with the feasibility.

Quite interesting is also the listing of products by fabric such as hemp, cotton or bamboo fiber but ultimately what this brands capture you for is the idea of craftmanship behind it and the attention to detail in the garment making process.

I have already identified few amazing dresses to put in my shopping list, hope you find your inspiration too, thanks for following my content!

Conscious & ethical fashion brand!

Hello! I am back to write the first post of the year 2021 🙂

In my research I have come across this sustainable brand, Progetto Quid, that produces limited-edition collections of clothes and accessories.

Like other sustainable brands I am recommending in this blog, Quid recovers otherwise wasted high-quality textiles from luxury or well established fashion brands and then these fabrics are manipulated to give new life to garments by people, mostly women, with a vulnerable past.

What strikes me from the online collection is the prices affordability, I was amazed to see unique pieces like dresses for less than 50 euro! In fairness shipping cost are still quite expensive if you live outside Italy but that is expected as these companies still do not deal with huge amounts of orders.

Have a look at their fabulous garments I am sure you’ll find something worth buying! Follow me on Instagram or Facebook to stay up to date with the content I am posting, thanks so much!!!

Dress made to measure

Hello!

Thanks to the amazing connections and communities that you can build online, I came across the profile of this super inspirational woman, Betty, and her amazing business, named Betty Concept.

Betty’s idea is to create dresses, made to measure, for every occasions that also empower each woman to express her mood and personality. The idea behind is that the sizes should adapt to the real bodies of women not viceversa!

If you have a look at her dress collection, you can quickly understand that the style she proposes is unique, totally hand-made and sustainable so that you can keep the garment and wear it for long time. It is not a seasonable or some sort of standardized item, quite the opposite: every dress has its own personality!

How does it work? You select the dress you like and choose the color plus specify other things such as the type of sleeves or the lenght, then there is no need for you to pick a size, you place the order right away and when that’s done you’ll be contacted by Betty or her team to take some measurements (most of the time this process is done online via uploading pictures).

The website is in Italian only, but I have seen that Betty ships in many countries so I guess language should not be a barrier to choose the right dress for you and buy it , however if you live in Italy or have the chance to visit the country (when this pandemic will be over) you should definitely pop over to her atelier in Brescia to experience to try on more dresses and get also a personalized consultation.

Personally, I will give it a go with an online personalized consultation, hope you get inspired for your next dress purchase!

Timeless organic clothing made in Peru

Hello! I’d like to introduce you to this conscious fashion brand 100% made in Peru, Fair Indigo.

This brand seems genuinely interested to make a positive change in the fashion industry. Their journey towards sustainability starts with the use of good quality fibers such as organic Peruvian Pima cotton. For those of you, who like me did not know what actually Pima cotton means, it is a variety of cotton which is significantly softer, stronger, and longer-lasting that other cottons and most surprisingly, at least to me, it represents only 2% of the total cotton produced worldwide!

This cotton used by Fair Indigo is grown on two family farms and harvested with care by hand, you can visit their website if you are curios to know more about the story of these farmers!

Producing good quality garments for sure goes hand in hand with supporting a more sustainable future: if you see things from the end-user perspective it is way better for our pockets to buy fewer long-lasting items rather than keep wasting money on fast fashion pieces that get disposed after just the first time they are worn.

This principle is clearly reflected in their collection: all the garments are very versatile and can be worn in many different occasions. I have been really impressed by one item in particular, a reversible wrap dress wrap that can be worn two ways, with a high or low neckline, plus it comes with pockets that function perfectly whichever way you’re wearing the dress. I think it is very cool 🙂

Worth to mention that Fair Indigo cares about the social environment of its workers and they commit to pay fair living wages to the local staff.

Hope you get inspired to browse and shop their collection, I am attaching here the picture of this amazing reversible dress that I am about to buy 🙂
